“I don’t want to want to sound pretentious, but I’d like to think of myself as a person who values honesty. And nothing infuriates me more than when somebody deliberately lies to my face – or even when someone isn’t completely upfront with me about something. And today I’m going to talk to you about a time when I got tricked at a fitness center.
I think it was last year,maybe I went to this gym to sign up for a membership. It is like a more upscale establishment so the price is quite steep, and I just want to make sure what I was getting before taking the plunge.
I left my contact details at the gym, and I was later contacted by a sales associate who walked me through all these membership schemes that they had on offer. But as soon as I saw the price tag I was like “Augh…” “Too rich for my blood” “Never gonna pay that much for a gym membership” “Game over”. But she was super persistent about it, and she offered me a bunch of discounts and eventually she threw in like a 2-month voucher for free. It all seemed too good to be true but, being the gullible person I am, I was eventually sold and I bought the plan she offered.…”
